Lahore, (14 February 2020): The HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 will be held from 20th February to 22nd March across four Pakistan venues.
  • According to reports of Baaghi TV, as per the PCB’s rights-protection policy, non-rights holding TV news channels will not be allowed to film inside the venue on match-days; the PCB will provide broadcast quality unedited post-match media conference footage for editorial use only.

Below is important information for media attending or following the tournament:

The HBL Pakistan Super League 2020 will be held from 20 February t0 22 March across four Pakistan venues – Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.

Event name – The correct event name is HBL Pakistan Super League 2020. Media houses and outlets are requested to use correct nomenclature while reporting on the event.

Website and Hashtags – Official website is https://www.psl-t20.com/, while hashtags are #HBLPSL, #Tayyarhain and #HBLPSLV

Match reports – In the build up to and during the tournament, the PCB will release features, interviews and match reports both in English and Urdu languages, which the media will be free to use for editorial purposes.

PCB partners with SNTV for HBL PSL 2020

Match images – The PCB will provide action photographs, which can be used for the editorial purposes only. The pictures will be available here for downloading, please credit PCB when using them.

Media shuttle service – As in the past, the PCB will run media shuttle service in Karachi and Multan. Further information will be released closer to time.

Facilities in media working areas – The PCB will provide international standard facilities in the media working areas. Press box facilities will include desk seats with clear view of the field of play, wifi, TV monitors for replays, scorers, power-points, running tea/coffee and lunch/dinner (depending on match-timing). For snappers, the PCB will provide desk seats, umbrellas (for day matches), chilly bins with water/soft drinks, tea/coffee, wifi, power-points, lunch/dinner boxes and IT support.

Outcomes of the 57th BoG meeting

Media accreditation – The media accreditation process for HBL PSL 2020 ran from 14 to 26 January 2020. As such, the PCB will not be processing or entertaining any late requests. Information on collection of accreditation passes will be shared in due course.

Outstation reporters on match-days – As per Article 16 of the Media Terms and Conditions, due to limited spaces in media working areas and acknowledging all media houses have their offices in the four match cities, the PCB will give priority to local journalists on match-days.

PSL 2020 tickets now available online

Match-day Filming – As per Article 8 of the Media Terms and Conditions, filming inside the venue by non-rights holding TV news channels on match-days is strictly prohibited. Any non-rights holding TV news channel breaching the regulation by airing footage filmed inside the venue, including from the spectator enclosures, will run the risk of their and/or their organisation’s accreditation passes being revoked.

Post-match media conferences – The PCB will provide unedited broadcast quality post-match media conferences via WeTransfer within 15 minutes after the conclusion of each presser, which can be used for editorial purposes only. Non-rights holding TV news channels will also be free use live-streaming of the post-match pressers from the HBL PSL YouTube channel.

Match highlights – The PCB has formed a partnership with SNTV, which will distribute match highlights for editorial purposes only. The TV news channels are advised to contact their usual contacts at SNTV for further information and clarification.

Camerapersons on match-days – Following discussions and with the support of senior cricket correspondents in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi/Islamabad; in line with Article 8(a)(i) of the Media Terms and Conditions, which the applicants agreed at the time of applying for media accreditation; and consistent to international sport event standards, non-rights holding TV news channel camerapersons will not be allowed in the media working areas on match-days. This policy was also followed during Bangladesh’s white-ball and red-ball matches in Lahore and Rawalpindi, respectively.

Non-match day filming – As per Article 8(b) of the Media Terms and Conditions, the Non-Rights holding TV news channels are allowed to film inside the venue 0n non-match days. This includes filming of training sessions, pre-match media conferences and interviews and pieces to cameras.

Usage of PCB digital content on social media – As per Article 12 of the Media Terms and Conditions, all PCB generated content in the build up to and during the event is the intellectual property of the PCB, but can be used for editorial purposes only. As part of the PCB’s rights protection policy, media violating this will be struck down, which can potentially result in the suspension of accounts.

Accreditation usage – PCB reserves the right to revoke accreditations on account of unprofessional behaviour or conduct by the accredited party. For more information and clarification, please refer to Article 5 of the Media Terms and Conditions.
