
Srinagar (Baaghi TV): A COVID-19 test of Zahoor Butt, brother of Kashmiri leader Maqbool Butt, has been found positive in the Central Jail of Anantnag District of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to South Asian Wire, on July 11, the Central Jail Administration informed the family of Zahoor Ahmed Butt of Kupwara District over phone that Zahoor Ahmed’s Corona virus test was positive. Upon hearing this news, Zahoor Ahmed’s family became worried.
Zahoor Ahmed’s family told South Asian Wire that Zahoor was a political prisoner and had not been feeling well for the past month, during which he had developed various symptoms.
According to South Asian Wire, Zahoor Ahmed Butt is the younger brother of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front founder Muhammad Maqbool Butt.
Maqbool Butt was hanged on February 11, 1984 in Delhi’s Tihar Jail and was buried there.
According to sources, the family of Zahoor Butt has said that Zahoor was kept in a separate cell of the jail last week after showing symptoms like code 19, after which his test came positive. They says he was not allowed to see the reappearance. They said his entire family was upset.
According to police sources, Butt was admitted to Anantnag District Hospital after his health deteriorated, during which a test sample was obtained for the Code 19 test. On July 5, Butt’s test report came back positive.
It is being reported that after this case, the process of getting test samples from the staff members including the inmates has been started.
