In Remembrance of Nawabzada Sir Fazal Ali Khan

Memorializing Nawabzada Sir Fazal Ali, on the eve of his death anniversary.
It is heartening to know that ours is a district of valiant and gallant soldiers, it boasts not just astute politicians but luminaries from the world of academia as well. Probably from the very beginning Nawabzada Sir Fazal Ali Khan has been the one who takes the cake in this regard.
Amongst a handful of certain noteworthy celebrities, he shall be seen as Saani Sir Syed for being the one who put his arm to the wheel thereby establishing the Zamindar College. This remained the only college between Lahore and Rawal Pindi. Countless graduates from Zamindar College – a bastion of learning and knowledge. The graduating students then went on to serve the country to the best of their abilities. The politicians, the judges, leading generals, bureaucrats, businessmen, and journalists all form a major bulk of the outgoing rising stars rolling out from this institution from time to time.

During the sixty-one years of his life between 1881 and 1942, Nawazbzada Sir Fazal Ali Khan was dubbed an Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.), the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.), a Nawab and Sir among other titles. He served as a Member of the Punjab Council Assembly in 1921, Chairman District Board from 1931 to 1942, and formed the Zamindar Educational Association in 1914 followed by the founding of the Zamindar College in 1936.
My personal feelings and suggestions on the death anniversary of Nawabzada Sir Fazal Ali Khan are shared below. We should be proud of what our elders did or what we plan on doing. Any step taken in this direction by whomsoever shall be laudable.
They were definitely great revered people who have contributed selflessly to churn out more accomplished people rendering valuable contributions in their very respective fields. They do account for a considerable chunk of the alumni.

Truly the names of those who remain associated with such incredibly iconic and monumental structures of learning shall ever memorialize the very existence of those gigantic personalities Nawabzada Sir Fazal Ali, late Mian Mohammad Akbar, late President Fazal Elahi, Ch. Ahmed Saeed, Ch. Zahoor Elahi, Mian Afzal Kolian, Ch. Nadir Khan Jaura late, Rashid Paganwala, and of course many more from academia the likes of late Sharif Kunjahi, Ch. Yaqoob, Ahmed Hussain, and Ahmed Kaladari are the ones who have contributed immensely towards the socio-economic communal development.
A dying breed whose successors must follow in the footsteps of their elders to further the cause of their creative wizardry. What is of paramount importance still is the fact that the succeeding generations of these very people who have been on the opposite sides of one another for the longest period of time should be made to work in tandem as far as the good of the area is concerned. Let bygones be bygones it’s a drawing the line in the sand kind of moment.

We should no longer sow the seeds of discord or discontent. Time for atonement. Those of us who have made mistakes must beseech the junta for atonement.
That’s the only way we can save our succeeding generations. We seek homogeneity in our approach and harmony in our thoughts. I salute all who have contributed to making our city and district a better place to live. Also thanks to our educators, lawyers, doctors, officers, the business community for providing employment, the builders of the city for constructing roads and bridges, and the journalists for highlighting the evil. The govt personnel for nabbing crime and the army who have gone to the altar of sacrifice are noteworthy indeed.
