“Increasing electricity prices is cruel,” says Shahbaz Sharif

“Further increasing the electricity prices is another cruel step of the tyrant government,” said the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition Shahbaz Sharif, according to reports; the price of electricity increased by 2 rupees 52 paise.

Pakistan’s opposition leader Shahbaz Sharif has said:

“The false government’s promise of relief was a lie, further increase in electricity prices is proof of that, he also said that this government lied to the nation that gave tax-free budget. Yes, this is the reality of this government”

Shahbaz Sharif said that he has already stated that if this government is in power then neither economy nor people will survive. Elimination of subsidy on gas to industries is the beginning point of new economic crisis.

He also mentioned that with the abolition of gas subsidy, electricity would become more expensive and the wheel of industry would slow down further. This system could not work.

“Increasing the shortage of gas from 400 to 500 cubic feet per day is evidence of corruption, incompetence and criminal mismanagement. In three years, the price of sugar has gone up from Rs. 53 to Rs. 160. Prices have gone up by more than 200%, it is only a problem for the people, profiteers have consumed Rs 270 crore but the government is reporting everything is fine.”

Shahbaz Sharif further said that increase in electricity prices will slow down the production of industries, unemployment will increase further, the price of sugar in Peshawar has gone up to Rs 175 per kg, where is the government? Where is the relief?

Shahbaz Sharif further said that all the records of inflation have already been broken due to increase in prices of essential commodities across the country. He also said that this government is the cause of crisis, thus economy can run, neither business nor “People can survive,” he said.
