Incumbent Parliamentary leadership believes in consensus based Legislation: Qureshi
Islamabad, July 23 (Online Int’l): Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi Minister for Foreign Affairs and chairman Parliamentary Committee on Legislative Business has said that the incumbent Parliamentary leadership believes in consensus based Legislation as the consensus and consultation with Opposition parties and other stakeholders can ensure parliamentary supremacy in the country. He remarked that both treasury and the opposition benches together can ensure legislation for the benefits of the people and the country. He expressed these views while chairing the maiden meeting of Parliamentary Committee on Legislative Business in the Parliament House on Thursday. The Committee discussed the Anti–Terrorism (Amendment) Bill, 2020 and the United Nations (Security Council) Amendment Bill 2020 in detail. The member of the Committee were of the view that bills in question need further discussion, therefore, taking into account their suggestions, the Committee decided to meet again on coming Monday for further discussion.
