India: Chief Minister of Gujarat Resigns

India: The Chief Minister of Gujarat, the home constituency of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has resigned. Details of why have yet to be revealed.

According to reports, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani has resigned and Prime Minister Modi appears less than pleased.

It seems differences are going on in the BJP, India’s ruling party in Gujarat and that is why the Chief Minister has resigned. His resignation, however, has not yet been accepted because no other candidate has appeared so far.

Indian Prime Minister Modi’s constituency in Gujarat is scheduled to go to assembly elections next year and removing or resigning a Chief Minister right before the elections seems like a bad move.

There is an argument that the Gujarati Chief Minister’s efforts were not up to the mark, due to which he resigned.

According to Indian media, no work is being done in many states of India where the BJP holds power. Chief Ministers are being replaced, two have already been changed in Uttarakhand and a new one sits in Karnataka.

In Uttar Pradesh, there have been reports of the possible removal of Yogi Adityanath, but currently, he is still CM. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister also sees the possibility of replacement.

According to Indian media, the government is doing questionable work. Too many changes in authority are occurring. The health minister, the education minister, the sports minister, and the communications minister have also been replaced.
