India’s war frenzy continues and after the Dassault Rafale, India has decided to buy hammer missiles from France on an emergency basis.
Indian media, citing official sources, have claimed that progress has been made in the purchase of hammer missiles and that France is ready to supply hammer missiles to India despite limited time.
According to the report, the agreement is being made under the emergency powers given to the Indian Army by the Modi government, however, the Indian Air Force has refuted or denied the news.
The deal for the Hammer missile, which has a range of 60 to 70 km for France’s Rafale fighter jets, are being signed at a time when India is under intense tension with China over the Ladakh issue.
Indian officials claim that the missiles will be handed over to India by France soon and that missiles made for another country will be handed over to India due to limited time.
On the other hand, the first consignment of 5 Rafales from France is arriving in India on July 29, while earlier one Rafale plane has been delivered to India.
It may be recalled that India had signed an agreement with France in 2016 to buy 36 Rafale aircraft worth Rs 60,000 crore, while the Modi government had also faced severe embarrassment and criticism over the alleged corruption in the agreement.
