India has sent thousands of more troops to Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, already the most militarized zone in the world.

New Delhi has ordered deployment of over 500 companies (approximately 50,000 personnel) of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) in Kashmir.

The deployment has been purportedly ordered in view of Indian PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the territory on June 21 (Friday) and the upcoming Hindu Amarnath Yatra. Modi plans to perform yoga near the Dal Lake in Srinagar on the occasion. The annual Hindu yatra will start on June 29 and conclude on August 19, lasting 52 days.

Reportedly, during a high-level meeting of Indian Home Ministry officials on Thursday night, it was decided that CAPFs be deployed along the route to be taken by Modi as well as on the arduous Amarnath Yatra route.

From time to time, India is deploying more and more troops in the occupied territory on one pretext or another. Notably, over one million Indian forces’ personnel are already deployed in IIOJK to subdue the Kashmiris’ freedom sentiment. Despite this heavy deployment and employing all brutal tactics by New Delhi, the Kashmiri people’s freedom sentiment remains unwavering, with ongoing efforts to resist Indian illegal occupation of their motherland.
