With 8,635 Covid-19 cases, India records lowest single-day rise in 8 months

India reported 8,635 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the positive cases tally in the country to 1,07,66,245, according to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Tuesday morning.

After reaching a high of 95,735 on September 10, 2020, India’s daily new Covid-19 cases dropped to 8,635 — the lowest in 8 months, the ministry said.

With 94 more deaths due to the infections, the total number of fatalities in the country has mounted to 1,54,486

As on Tuesday Morning, there are a total of 1,63,353 active cases, while 1,04,48,406 people infected with the virus have been recovered and discharged.
