India surpasses China in coronavirus infections

Coronavirus (COVID-19) cases are increasing rapidly in India, moreover, the total number of cases has surpassed that of China.

According to Indian media, the health minister said that in the last 24 hours, more than 3,900 cases of coronavirus have been reported in India with 103 deaths. With that, the total number of cases exceeded  85,900. However, the total number of coronavirus cases in China are almost 82,000.

According to Indian media, India is currently ranked 11th in the world in terms of coronavirus cases. About 30,000 people have recovered from corona in the country so far, which is 35% of the total cases.

According to the Indian Minister of Health, the death toll in the country in terms of total cases is 3.2%, which is better than 5.5% in China. According to Indian media, there has been a record increase in the number of cases in the country since April 14, where the number of cases was 20,000 on April 23 and reached 70,000 by May 12.

In India, 68 per cent of coronavirus cases came from 18 cities, with Mumbai, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Poona and Chennai accounting for 50 per cent of the country’s total cases.

Coronavirus cases crossed 81,000 on Friday increasing by 3,967 cases

The Indian state of Maharashtra is worst affected by the coronavirus, with about 1,000 police officers infected and 10 killed, while Mumbai is the worst affected state. The total number of deaths from coronavirus in India is more than 2,700 while in China more than 4,000 people lost their lives.

It should be noted that after the cases of coronavirus came to light in India, the longest lockdown was implemented in the world, which is now being gradually relaxed.
