India on Friday successfully conducted the flight test of Solid Fuel Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) Technology from Interim Test Range at Chandipur, a beach in Baleswar district of Odisha.
All subsystems, including the ground booster motor, performed as per expectation during the test fire.
After conducting the flight test, a DRDO official said, “During the test, many new technologies were proven, including the Solid Fuel-based Ducted Ramjet Technology.”
During the test, the air-launch scenario was simulated using a booster motor. Subsequently, the nozzle-less booster accelerated it to the required Mach number for Ramjet operation.
