Islamabad, 15th October: India has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking the release of four of its spies who were convicted by a military court.
According to sources from Islamabad, the Indian High Commission has filed an application in the Islamabad High Court for the release of four of its convicts who were convicted by a military court.
The Indian High Commission and the prisoners filed the petition through Barrister Malik Shah Nawaz Noon to release the Indian prisoners Bircho, Bang Kumar, Satish Bhag and Sonu Singh.
The petition contends that three Indian convicts lodged in Lahore Jail and one convict in Karachi Jail were convicted of espionage and terrorist activities in Pakistan.
The petition filed by India states that there is no legal reason for them to remain in jail, keeping prisoners in jail after serving their sentence is a violation of their rights under the Constitution of Pakistan.
It said that they should be released and sent back to India, and arrangements should be made to send prisoners back to their country India.
