'India will definitely be worried about Pakistan's new squad'

Former Pakistani cricketer Tauseef Ahmed believes India will be concerned ahead of their highly anticipated T20 World Cup match against Pakistan.

According to the details, Shoaib Malik, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Haider Ali, and Fakhar Zaman are a part of the Pakistan’s 15-man squad for the Twenty20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Oman.

Azam Khan and Mohammad Hasnain had been replaced by wicketkeeper Sarfaraz and batsman Haider, respectively, while opener Fakhar, who had been selected as a travel reserve, had replaced Khushdil Shah. Malik also took over for Sohaib Maqsood.

After the New Zealand and England series was cancelled, the players who were dropped did not perform well in the National T20 Cup. Sohaib Maqsood was retained in the squad, although he was dropped due to a back injury.

While talking to a private news channel, Ahmed said, “The match is going to be challenging. However, I believe that anything can happen, and Pakistan might win the match.”

“In fact, India has a strong team from top to bottom […] India must be concerned after Pakistan’s new lineup was announced,”Ahmed voiced his opinion.

When asked about the importance of seniors, he responded that they “weren’t being considered [for the squad].” The former Test cricketer also added, “Pakistan should have played with a variety of combinations as they do now,”
