Civil Aviation allowed the Indian Air Ambulance to land at the airport due to lack of fuel. According to airport sources, the captain of the Indian Air Ambulance, while contacting the Lahore Control Tower, said that his plane was running low on fuel and wanted to land in Lahore or Islamabad to refuel. The Lahore Control Tower, with permission from the higher authorities, sent the air ambulance to Islamabad Airport instead of Lahore.

The ambulance remained at the new Islamabad Airport for about two hours. According to the CAA, Pakistan allowed the plane to land on humanitarian grounds. According to the Civil Aviation Authority, the Indian air ambulance was carrying British patients, doctors and two nurses. After meeting the fuel requirement, the air ambulance left for its destination.
Earlier, on November 17 last year, an Indian plane made an emergency landing at Karachi Airport. On the basis of humanitarian sympathy from Pakistan, the Indian aircraft was allowed to land.

In May 2020, an Indian cargo plane made an emergency landing at Islamabad Airport. The plane took off after refueling. Pakistan’s air traffic control allowed the plane to land.
