7th August 2020: India has started playing tricks on the field of sports too and has started lobbying for holding the Twenty20 World Cup next year.

This year’s Twenty20 World Cup was supposed to be hosted by Australia, but due to the coronavirus, it got delayed. India has now reportedly started lobbying to host this year’s T20 World Cup.

Indian and Australian board officials will hold talks at the International Cricket Council (ICC) board meeting today.

Australia postpones T20 series with West Indies

The BCCI will push for a mega event in 2021. According to the details, the T20 World Cup in Australia in October-November this year was postponed due to the situation caused by the coronavirus.

The short format mega event of the year was to be hosted, the postponed T20 World Cup will now be held in October next year, but the decision to host it was postponed.

According to Indian media, the BCCI wants to host the T20 World Cup in 2021, while Australia will host its mega event in 2022.
