Indonesia reports record death rate from Delta variant in July
Lahore, 19th July: In Indonesia, a total of 114 doctors died during the first 17 days in the month of July, the highest number reported for any period of similar length. After the widespread Delta variant of COVID-19 wreaked havoc in Indonesia, the number of healthcare doctors who lost their lives has increased drastically. According to reports, the number of doctors who lost their lives owing to the Delta variant has risen to a record-high, after 114 doctors died from July 1-17. Officials from Indonesia’s doctor’s association (IDI) said during a virtual news conference that more than 20% of the 545 total doctor deaths occurred from COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
