International Youth Day being celebrated today
Lahore, 12th August: ‘International Youth Day’ is being celebrated all over the world today.
According to Baaghi TV, the United Nations’ (UN) International Youth Day is celebrated on August 12 each year to recognize efforts of the world’s youth in enhancing global society.

International Youth Day aims to promote youth to develop ways of contributing and involving themselves towards the betterment of their society.
UK economy plunges into largest recession on record
This day is dedicated to the youth across the world to hear their voices, understand the needs, recognize, and celebrate their achievements.
In 1999, the UN General Assembly proposed a recommendation made by the World Conference of Ministers Responsible for Youth, in Lisbon, that August 12, be declared International Youth Day.
The theme of International Youth day
A special and unique theme is chosen for the celebration of the day every year by the United Nations in accordance with the significant happenings of the year.

Youth And COVID-19
Youth, like all, has been affected by the global pandemic and have become vulnerable as education and employment sectors are badly affected. Their perspectives and ideas are essential to the COVID-19 response and to build a better future. International Youth Day, today is being celebrated to make sure their voices are being heard.

The UN defines the worlds’ youth as the age group between 15 and 24 years old, making up one-sixth of the human population.
United Nations has planned various activities to celebrate the day that includes concerts, workshops, cultural events, and meetings. The events will be done in a podcast-style discussion that will be hosted by the youth for the youth.
