Intl Community Should Work With Afghanistan: Bilawal

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan’s foreign minister, called on the international community, especially the US, to cooperate with Afghanistan to fight against foreign fighters and solve the economic crisis.

“The international community should work with Afghanistan’s ruling Taliban, not against them, when it comes to combatting foreign extremist groups and the economic and humanitarian crises in that country — even as many US officials say the Taliban have proved themselves unworthy of such cooperation,” said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Pakistan’s foreign minister.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari added that the acting government of Afghanistan is not able to deal with extremist groups.

“The world wants reforms at once from Afghanistan, in the area of terrorism, economic reforms, reforms of the government. If in reality the world wants these from Afghanistan, they have to stay in touch,” said Tariq Farhadi, political analyst.
Meanwhile, the Islamic Emirate at another time assured that Afghanistan soil will not be used against another country.

“The Islamic Emirate has provided security across the country and has a policy that Afghanistan will not be a threat for regional and other countries,” said Bilal Karimi, deputy Spokesman for the Islamic Emirate.

Previously, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said at the United Nations General Assembly that Pakistan is concerned by a terrorist presence in Afghanistan, and this speech was faced with serious reactions from the Islamic Emirate.
