Int’l Day of Zero Waste being observed today

International Day of Zero Waste is being observed on Sunday.
This year’s theme “Towards zero waste in fashion and textiles”, focuses on the urgent need to take action to reduce the waste impact from the fashion and textile sector.
Meanwhile, Minister for Climate Change, Dr. Musadik Malik has called on the nation to unite in addressing the critical challenge of sustainable waste management.
In his message on International Zero Waste Day, the Minister said Pakistan is committed to tackle the waste challenges through comprehensive and sustainable policies.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transitioning from a linear economy to a circular economy, where waste is minimized, and resources are kept in use for as long as possible.
The Minister also highlighted the critical role of the private sector in fostering zero waste practices.
