Lahore, 4th May: The Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended indefinitely after reports of players testing positive for the coronavirus came to light.

According to reports, IPL has been put on hold on Tuesday after some players and staff members got infected with COVID-19, the reports of which started circulating yesterday.

The Indian Cricket Board (BCCI) has announced the news of the postponement of the IPL postponement BCCI vice-president confirms postponement of the league saying that IPL has been suspended indefinitely.

BCCI shared on its Twitter account, ” The Indian Premier League Governing Council (IPL GC) and Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in an emergency meeting have unanimously decided to postpone IPL 2021 season with immediate effect.”

Baaghi TV reported on Monday that the IPL match between KKR and RCB was canceled yesterday after the COVID test results of players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier came back positive.

Both the players have quarantined themselves.

It should be noted that in India, 3,438 more people died from coronavirus in a single day, after which the total number of deaths has exceeded 222,000.
