Iranian Artist Gets Major Retrospective
SHARJAH (8th Nov, 2019): Iran’s most prominent artist, the late Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, gets a retrospective in Sharjah.
According to details, the Sharjah Art Foundation in partnership with Dublin’s Irish Museum of Modern Art (IMMA) looks to start working on the art of one of Iran’s most prominent artist, the late Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian. The exhibit marks one of the biggest retrospectives of Farmanfarmaian.
Reportedly, the exhibition will display more than 70 of her pieces on display. On this occasion, director of the Sharjah Art Foundation, Hoor Al Qasimi said:
It has been our great pleasure to celebrate the work of one of the most important and influential artists of the last century.
Be clear that, Farmanfarmaian’s career became known for her textile designs and paintings that fused together the use of Western tinge of abstraction and cut-glass mosaic techniques from Iran.
