Iranian Consul General meets Shahbaz Sharif in Model Town

Iranian Consulate General Mohammad Reza Nazeri called on Shahbaz Sharif, who is the current Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly of Pakistan, at his residence in Model Town, Lahore.

According to the details, party sources said that the Iranian delegation was warmly welcomed by the former Chief Minister of Punjab. Shahbaz Sharif expressed good wishes for the delegation on their visit.

Addressing Shahbaz Sharif, Reza Nazeri said, “I was late in coming to you but I am very happy to meet you today.” He also said that it was only 20 days after I came to Pakistan that Begum Kulsoom Nawaz had passed away.

Iranian Consul General Reza Nazeri further said on the occasion that he had gone to Nawaz Sharif to express his condolences over the death of his wife. These are our traditions that we have been following for centuries.

Shahbaz Sharif said that he had also taken a detailed briefing from the officials about the cleanliness of Mashhad. We jointly set up a modern style slaughterhouse in Lahore to promote mutual trade and investment between Pakistan and Iran.

He also said that this is a proof of Pak-Iran friendship. The situation in the region and issues of mutual interest were also discussed between the former Chief Minister and Iranian Consulate General Muhammad Reza Nazeri during the meeting.
