Islamabad Cops lodge first FIR on animal abuse

Head of Prime Minister Stretegic Reforms Unit Salman Sufi Sunday said that Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have started lodging FIRs against animal cruelty.

Suif said that animals picking from streets for veterinary experiments has been banned in ICT by the Prime Minister Shehbaz Shehbaz Sharif.

He urged people to report any animal cruelty at 1819.

ICT Police has started lodging FIR’s against animal abuse, he added.

DC Islamabad and ICT police have been instructed to keep close watch, he maintained.

In this case, Arif Agriculture University, Islamabad students beaten a dog and tied him up with motorbike. An Islamabad based animal activist rescued the dog and later registered FIR.
