Islamabad High Court rejects private schools owners plea for reopening schools

ISLAMABAD, July 27 (Online): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has rejected private school owners plea seeking opening of schools through court order immediately.

The case came up for hearing before single bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah Monday.

The court directed the owners of private schools to resort to the relevant forum.

The CJ IHC remarked during the hearing of the case it is upto government to work out policy. Court will not interfere therein. The elected government is answerable to the people. Decision will be taken after looking at the situation.

Not only the owners of the schools are suffering but children are also suffering in the perspective of education. Saying this the matter is not in the view of government will be wrong. Government will be considering all this matter on its own after taking into account all the problems.

The counsel for the petitioner said “ but government is not caring for it. We filed application with Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) but no decision has been taken on it so far.

The court inquired from the counsel of petitioner “ what is your representative body. You should resort to the concerned authority through association and not individually.

The court wrapped up the petition directing the petitioner to approach the relevant forum.
