Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan: Options for the world & Pakistan

Pakistan is the only nuclear power in the Islamic countries and has always been in the leading role whenever there’s any sort of problem or crisis in Muslim states all around the world. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is already hosting refugees from Afghanistan for decades.

Pakistan is the third-largest country when it comes to hosting Refugees where, Registered Afghani Refugees in the country are 14,35,445 and more than one million, approximately, are unregistered.

As per a report by the Centre for Global Development (CGD) in August 2021, Pakistan is the third-largest country when it comes to hosting Refugees – Registered Afghani Refugees in the country are 14,35,445 and more than one million (approximately) are unregistered. But, this time around after the government in Afghanistan was taken over by the Taliban, the border is officially closed for refugees except those who have the valid paperwork for any reason – like to see families on either side, medical reasons, work, etc. Like every time in the need of the hour and as per expectations the Islamic Republic of Pakistan delivered the first tranche of Humanitarian assistance / needs to Kabul on September 8, 2021. From Islamabad, it was the first of three aircraft (C-130) sent to Kabul, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. It contained 30 tonnes and included wheat flour, medical aid (medicines / First Aid boxes, etc.), cooking oil.

Pakistan did what a responsible state must do in the present scenario – massive numbers of foreigners (Including Army officials) were provided with a chance to go to their home countries via Afghanistan to Pakistan flights.

Pakistan National security Advisor Moeed Yusuf (while talking to Voice of America) clearly stated that the Islamic Republic of Pakistan is not in a position to accept any refugee from Afghanistan. There are fears in the state of Pakistan that banned terror outfits (their members in form of refugees) could enter Pakistan in the guise of refugees – which could lead to terror activities in the country again.

Masses in general, the government in specific don’t want to be in circumstances where the country was in 2001 (for the next two decades). Loss of lives in the country and loss of infrastructure in the state, as well in the war against terrorism, waged by the USA against Taliban of Afghanistan. Prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan has always been an advocate of peace in Afghanistan for peace in the south Asian region (mainly in Pakistan) by the inclusion of the Taliban in Afghanistan as a concerned party.

Prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Imran Khan has always been an advocate of peace in Afghanistan for peace in the south Asian region (mainly in Pakistan) by the inclusion of the Taliban in Afghanistan as a concerned party.

So looking at this, it seems like Pakistan is ready to help the newly built government in Afghanistan and the masses for their habilitation and for peaceful Afghanistan but Pakistan wouldn’t be a part of anyone else’s war now and the soil of the country wouldn’t be used for anyone especially anyone in Afghanistan.

Peaceful Afghanistan is key for peace in Pakistan as well as peace in South Asia (maybe peace to the world). The presence of DG ISI was a gesture from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and to the entire world that Pakistan always is keen for peaceful Afghanistan and peaceful South Asia. The need of the hour is that United Nations and other international stakeholders must try to manage the Afghanistan situation in such a way that refugee camps must be established within Afghanistan. This time, the United Nations refugee agency (UNHCR) must establish Refugee Camps on the Border on Afghanistan’s side.
