Sunday, June 21st: What does Islam guide us on solar eclipses? Qari Sohaib Mir Mohammadi’s talk with Baaghi TV.

According to Baaghi TV report, a well reputed religious scholar, Qar Sohaib Mir Mohammadi presented Islamic views regarding solar and lunar eclipses. While explaining them, he said that both solar and lunar eclipses are signs of Allah and not due to someone’s life or death.

He added that the behavior of the Prophet (PBUH) when there was an eclipse of the moon or the eclipse of the sun is a model for us and it is obligatory for the believers to adopt it on such an occasion. Once when the sun was eclipsed, he became very frightened and hurriedly took the shroud of his family and said to the Companions, “Come” and start praying quickly. So quickly that he did not even remember to take his chadar and then you were given the chadar of your family. Similarly, whenever there was any trouble, you would offer prayers. It takes away your grief and anxiety.

In the same way, when the tyrant king intended evil with the wife of our ancestor Syedna Ibrahim (as), he quickly started praying. The cure for universal troubles is prayer. The life of the Prophet (PBUH) is the best example for us in such situations.
