ISPR: Terrorist killed during exchange of fire with security forces in North Waziristan
Feb 9, 2022: Accrording to the ISPR, a terrorist was killed during an exchange of fire with security forces in the North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the incident took place in Shewa area of the district during which a terrorist named Irfan alias Abu Darda was killed. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the slain terrorist, he added. The ISPR said the dead terrorist was involved in terrorist activities against security forces, targeted killings and kidnappings for ransom.
The ISPR further said that the locals of the area appreciated the operation and expressed their full support for eradicating the scourge of terrorism from the area. In Balochistan last week, security forces killed 20 terrorists in clearance operations after attacking two security camps in the province’s Panjgur and Noshki districts.
According to ISPR, 9 security personnel were martyred while repelling the attack. Earlier in the day, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa, while reiterating his commitment to ensure peace and stability in the country, reiterated that the terrorists’ “desperate attempts for revival” won’t be allowed to succeed.
While presiding over the Corps Commanders’ Conference on Wednesday, the COAS said, “We will eliminate all remnants of terrorists, their abettors and accomplices whatever is the cost,”
According to a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations, the forum was given a comprehensive briefing on the security situation in the country, particularly recent incidents related to terrorism in Balochistan. It further said that the participants were apprised of the steps being taken to counter “hostile attempts to destabilize Pakistan”.
