NEW YORK: Israeli aggression on Palestine should end immediately appeals UN Secretary-General.

Addressing the UN General Assembly on Palestine, Guttierez said more than 200 Palestinians had been killed in the bombing. Several hospitals were destroyed in the Israeli bombardment, thousands of Palestinians were displaced, and nine members of the same family were martyred in the bombing of the refugee camp. The lives of people of Gaza have become like hell in the world.

He said that there was also concern over the destruction of a media building in Gaza, and that journalists needed to be protected. UN facilities are being targeted in Gaza. He added that Israel must pave way for humanitarian aid. Tensions must stop and the conflict in Palestine cannot be ignored.

“We are in contact with Hamas and Israel for a ceasefire, and all member states should put pressure on both sides for a ceasefire,” he said. The Israeli government has been in violation of the laws of armed conflict, civilians can never be targeted, bombing of densely populated areas must be avoided.

He said Israel should immediately stop building ghettos on Palestinian land. It was illegal to demolish Palestinian homes. Israeli forces were concerned about clashes with Palestinians in the West Bank.

Earlier, Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Saudi Foreign Minister Farhan bin Faisal and most of the foreign ministers of the Islamic world have appealed to the international community but no one took action.
