The video shows an Israeli soldier grabbing a senior citizen by the neck and knocking him to the ground, then kneeling on his neck. Other Israeli military officials have shot at journalists who captured the scene on camera. During the protest, an elderly Palestinian held a Palestinian flag in his hand. The Palestinian elder did not let go of the flag, even as he was being held down for hours by an Israeli military official. However, later when both his hands were tied behind his back, the flag fell down.

Khairy Hanoun, a 65-year-old was the Palestinian man who was tortured by the Israeli army. According to international media reports, the incident took place during a protest in the village of Shofa, near the West Bank.
