Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennet meets the Crown Prince of UAE

Baaghi TV: Israel’s Prime Minister Naftali Bennett arrived in the United Arab Emirates today on an official visit.

According to the news agency, Prime Minister Bennett was received by UAE’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed in Abu Dhabi. Given the occasion, the two leaders discussed important matters following the mutual agreement signed 15 months prior.

The Israeli news agency claims that in the meeting between Prime Minister Bennett and the Crown Prince important discussions were held regarding the regional situation along with pledges to further strengthen Israel-UAE relations.

It is noteworthy that this was the first official visit of Israel’s Prime Minister to the UAE since the establishment of relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates. This visit is significant as it is happening whilst a time when the G7 comprising the world’s seven largest nations, have agreed to take a joint stand against Russia, China and Iran. The UAE had established diplomatic relations with Israel last year and Naftali Bennett is the first Israeli prime minister to visit this Gulf state.

The UAE had announced a historic peace agreement with Israel on August 13 in order to establish normal diplomatic relations with the said country. A decree was issued on August 29, under which the UAE’s “Israel Economic Boycott Law” would be repealed.

It is to be noted that The United Arab Emirates and Israel had signed the US-brokered “Abraham Accords Declaration” at the White House on September 15.
