ISLAMABAD, July 04(Online): Minister for planning and reforms Asad Omar has said it is our endeavor that livelihood opportunities should continue side by side our efforts on containment of corona virus epidemic.
He said this during his visit to isolation centre and specialized hospital along with Lt General Muhammad Afzal, chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Both the minister and chairman NDMA were given detailed briefing with reference to facilities and operation in the hospital.
During the briefing it was told that isolation centre and hospital were built in 45 days in Islamabad in view of corona virus outbreak. There are 250 isolation beds in this hospital and high flow oxygen has been provided on every bed. This hospital has been constructed in collaboration with China. China has provided 4 million dollars for construction of this hospital.
Talking to media men Asad Omar said situation is improving. If we don’t take care then we will face punishment. NDMA specialized hospital was set up under the directives of Prime Minister. Paramedics confronted corona virus challenge with high spirit.
He observed business will run and people remain healthy if SOPs are adhered to.
He indicated hospital equipped with state of the art facilities has been set up in Islamabad and the number of beds has been increased in the hospital. PM Imran Khan will formally inaugurate the hospital.
