ITF Warns that PIA Passenger’s Lives are in Extreme Danger

LAHORE (19th Nov, 2019): The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) has warned that the lives of passengers traveling in the National Airline, Pakistan International Airline (PIA) are in danger.

According to reports of Baaghi TV, Secretary General of ITF, Stephen Cotton wrote a letter to Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan. In a letter, Cotton has expressed his serious concerns regarding the duration of cabin crew which is reportedly increased from 12 to 14 hours.

Reportedly, Cotton’s letter has warned Prime Minister that the passenger’s lives have been put at risk after the decision of cabin crew. General Secretary ITF wrote, the salaries of the staff have not been increased after 2016 and the travelling allowance of cabin crew is also not issued for one year.

Moreover, the letter also stated that the employees are paid late every month and retired employees are not getting their pensions.

On the other hand, General Secretary ITF also complained to Prime Minister that he had already written a letter to him in this regard but no action was taken.
