Jahangir Tareen group to side with Opposition: Afeefa Rao

Majority of Jahangir Tareen group have voted in favour of siding with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), as reported by the journalist, Afeefa Rao. According to her, Tareen groups’ severe disagreements against the PTI’s (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) government has led majority of his group to openly opt anti- government narrative and jump into political field.

In a conversation with the media, estranged PTI leader, Jahangir Tareen said that the political meeting with the Opposition leaders was important in light of the current political situation in the country.

“Various political parties are willing to welcome Tareen into their party but he is yet to define his position,” said Faisal Rao, her husband.

The Opposition has repeatedly claimed that lawmakers from the PTI are in contact with them and that when the time would be right, they would move a ‘no-confidence’ motion against the premier.

Another important news featured in their YouTube show, ‘25th Hour’, both Faisal Rao and his wife, Afeefa Rao stated that PML-N Leader, Shahbaz Sharif has offered key post to Pervaiz Elahi in Punjab. Although, it is not an easy job to remove the existing government and an event of such nature could only be encouraged by the Establishment, the governmental build up of PTI is yet to be discovered, added Rao. “PM (Prime Minister) Imran Khan’s visit to Lahore would be decisive in this regard,” Rao said.

However, the removal of government may not be the biggest priority of those in power as this could jeopardize Pakistan’s economic stability. The growing tensions between Russia and Ukraine have brought drastic changes in the global market, one of the major ones being the unprecendented increase in prices of petroleum product. On the other hand, PM’s expected visit to Russia next week also indicates Pakistan’s active involvment in international politics.

Though coming events cast their shadows before, the future of Pakistan’s politics could take a turn any moment.

Moreover, both the journalists also discussed the torture of the ‘Sar-e-Aam’ host, Iqrar Ul Hassan in ‘25th Hour’,  appreciating his bravery and dedication towards his profession.

“However, anchors and journalists should prioritize their lives when exposing truth or supporting relevant proofs. IB (Intelligence Bureau) officials have not released any statement from their side and thus, media is still to hear the other side of the story,” Rao concluded.

It is to be remembered that Iqrar Ul Hassan was tortured by Directors Intelligence Bureau (IB) Syed Mohiuddin Rizwan and his team for exposing corruption along with a video evidence.

Sources revealed that the journalist, along with his team, was stripped naked, blindfolded and filmed by the IB officials. Furthermore, Baaghi TV has learnt that the Sar e Aam team was beaten and severely tortured. Sources told Baaghi TV that electric shocks were inflicted on the delicate parts of their bodies on the orders of Director IB.
