Jemima Goldsmith responds to PM Khan’s rape comments

Lahore, 8th April: Jemima Goldsmith responds after Prime Minister Imran Khan’s recent take on women’s clothing and the increase of rape cases in the country. Prime Minister Imran Khan during his question-answer session on a TV channel on April 4 gave a statement that created quite a stir in the country. The premier responded to a woman’s question asked on a live telephone call about the growing number of rape cases in the country, that nudity and bold clothing by women were linked to rape events. PM Khan highlighted that in order to save the family system in our country, we should impose religious teachings including a veiled system for women so as not to promote vulgarity. The prime minister said that this was not the case in Britain many years ago, but when women promoted nudity and started wearing short dresses, the incidence of ‘rape’ increased. “Looking at these things, I talked to President Erdogan and brought Turkish drama here,” he said.
