Jerusalem: Al-Aqsa Mosque closed again?

Occupied Jerusalem: The government has reportedly closed Al-Aqsa Mosque for three weeks due to increasing cases of corona virus in Palestine.

According to foreign media reports, the East Jerusalem Islamic Waqf Board has said that the entry of worshipers in Al-Aqsa Mosque will be closed for three weeks from Friday.

Hatem Abdul Qadir, a member of the Waqf Board, while informing the media, said that Al-Aqsa Mosque will remain open and the call to prayer and the five daily prayers are not being stopped here. Only the public is barred from entering. He said that security guards and staff would be allowed to offer prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque and the mosque would remain closed for the general public.

The number of coronavirus patients in East Jerusalem has now reached 8,000, according to the Palestinian Authority’s health department.
