Lahore, 24th June: A suspect involved in the Lahore Johar Town blast has been arrested at Allama Iqbal International Airport.
According to reports from a private TV, a resident of Gujranwala was trying to escape to Karachi by plane. The suspect was offloaded from the flight and taken into custody by the intelligence agencies.
The arrested suspect has been shifted to an unknown location for interrogation. The arrested person will be interrogated by the investigating agencies.
It is being claimed that the arrested accused is the owner of the vehicle used in the blast. He was taken off the flight and taken into custody.
According to details pouring in, the vehicle used in the blast was stolen from Gujranwala 11 years ago.
The case of a stolen vehicle LEB 9928 has been registered in Cantt Gujranwala police station. The police had registered the case on the statement of Shakeel, a resident of Hafizabad. As per reports, on November 29, 2010, at 10.45 am three robbers snatched the vehicle from the driver.
Investigations into the Johar Town blast are underway. The vehicle, which may have been used in the blast, entered from Babu Sabo Interchange at around 9.40 am on Wednesday. The vehicle was also regularly checked at the Babu Sabo check post. CTD and intelligence agencies have obtained footage of the vehicle’s entry into Lahore.
Security has been tightened across Lahore after the blast. Police personnel patrolled the area in the Johar Town area. No one was allowed to come near the site of the blast.
On the other hand, another injured in the bomb blast passed away at Jinnah Hospital after which the number of martyrs has increased to four.
Earlier, a case of the blast has been registered. The case was registered in the Anti-Terrorism Department Lahore Police Station on the complaint of Inspector Abid Baig. The lawsuit alleges murder, attempted murder and terrorism.
The case includes 7 ATA, 3/4 Explosives Act and other provisions. According to the FIR, the terrorists used a vehicle and a motorcycle in the operation.
It should be noted that the blast took place on June 23 in the Johar Town area of Lahore. The residence of Amir Hafiz Muhammad Saeed of Jamaat-ud-Dawa is also located in the same area.
