Lahore, 6th April: Jordan’s Prince Hamza has pledged his allegiance to King Abdullah after mediation.
According to reports, Prince Hamza pledged his loyalty to King Abdullah after negotiation with the royal family on Tuesday.
The announcement came two days after he was kept under house arrest and alleged of trying to destabilise the country.
The royal court stated that after a meeting with Prince Hassan, the king’s uncle, and other princes, Prince Hamza signed a letter placing himself under the monarch’s disposal.
Prince Hamza’s signed letter released by the court said, “I place myself in the hands of his majesty the king. I will remain committed to the constitution of the dear Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.”
A message from the royal palace informed that the king had placed Prince Hassan, a former crown prince to take charge of the matter and that Prince Hamza had agreed over the matter.
According to earlier reports, the military warned Prince Hamza that he was sabotaging the security and stability in Jordan, following which the military put Prince Hamza and prominent figures under house arrest.
