According to Baaghi TV reports, accountability court judge Arshad Malik died due to corona. According to family sources, former judge Arshad Malik had been on a ventilator for a week and died at a private hospital in Rawalpindi. Funeral prayers of Arshad Malik will be offered in his native village Mandira Gujjar Khan. Judge Arshad Malik had in December 2018 sentenced former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to seven years in prison in the Azizia Steel Mill case. Following the verdict, Maryam Nawaz released an alleged video in which he was heard saying that he was under pressure to convict former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Azizia Steel Mills case. Following the case, Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah had barred Arshad Malik from acting as a judge of the accountability court due to his misconduct and ordered him to report to the Lahore High Court.
