Justice for Noor and Rape Victims Demanded by Maulana Tahir Ashrafi
Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to order a speedy trial of rape cases, particularly children and girls, and the Noor murder case.
Maulana Tahir Ashrafi has said that incidents of child and girl rapes are on the rise, and with the way they keep occurring, emergency measures are required.
The Special Representative further said that there are thousands of cases in courts, therefore immediate resolution is necessary. The Noor Mukadam case has instilled fear and deep concern in peoples’ hearts, he added.
It is to be recalled that at the National Assembly meeting yesterday, women MLAs of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), and Muslim League-N (PML-N) came together and demanded public execution of rape criminals, especially those who raped children.
Women members said that these incidents will not stop unless a public execution is done, including National Assembly member Asma Qadir. She reiterated that public execution was necessary and that the accused in the Noor Mukadam case should have the same fate.
