K Electric consumers to pay extra bills for the next three months

K-Electric Ensures Sustained Power Supply Rain and Winds Hit Karachi

ISLAMABAD: National Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity for K Electric consumers by 69 paise per unit.

According to reports, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the increase in electricity rates for K Electric consumers and issued a notification stating that the increase will be applicable only to November bills.

The notification further reported the approval of 69 paise per unit increase as per fuel adjustment units in the July bill.

According to NEPRA, the notification is applicable to K electric users except lifeline users.

It may be recalled that NEPRA had held a hearing on September 2, 2021 at the request of K Electric.

On October 15, the government had increased the price of electricity by Rs 1.68 per unit. The increase in the price of electricity was made in the context of quarterly tariff adjustment.

Earlier, NEPRA had proposed an increase of Rs 1.95 paise in the price of electricity, which was approved in the context of the August fuel charges adjustment.
