Kabul: Announcement of payment of 3 months salary to government employees

KABUL: The Afghan government has reportedly announced the payment of three months’ salary to all government employees.

Taliban deputy spokesman Inamullah Samangani said the Afghan finance ministry had collected more than 26 billion afghanis in 70 days. He said all government employees would be paid their salaries for the last three months from today.

Taliban deputy spokesman Inamullah Samangani further said that due to technical issues pensions are not being paid but the issue of pension payment will be resolved soon.

On the other hand, Taliban spokesman and Deputy Information Minister Zabihullah Mujahid has also confirmed the payment of salaries.

It should be noted that salaries were not released to government employees after the Taliban took control on August 15.
