Karachi, 21st October: The statement of the officer of the bank branch affected by the Karachi blast has come to light. Bank officer Asif’s initial statement was recorded by the East Zone Police. The statement said that complaints of Sui gas leakage were common in the affected apartment. From time to time, complaints were lodged with the Sui Gas staff.  The bank official, in his statement to the police, added that the last time Sui Gas staff came was on Eid, the gas was emitted from meters installed on the wall adjacent to the bank. It is to be noted that the blast injured 20 people and killed five in Karachi today. The area has been sealed off since the incident. Motorcycles and vehicles parked outside the building were also damaged in the blast. The blast took place at a private bank in Meezan.
