Karachi (20th April, 2020): Police official arrested for having ties with Indian agency RAW.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, a Karachi police ASI arrested for working with Indian intelligence agency, RAW. According to the police, the SIU police and agencies took action in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. The ASI, Shahzad Pervez, was posted in the Faisal avenue police station.
The accused Shahzad Pervez was receiving heavy funding from the Mahmud Siddiqui group and was arrested for involvement in terrorist activities. According to the police, he is said to be a key member of a target killers’ team and is an affiliate of the MQM London. The ASI was a resident of the Gulistan-e-Jauhar area. Reportedly, two hand grenades have been recovered from the accused’s possession.
As per reports from the police, a detailed investigation has been initiated.
It is to be noted that earlier this months on the 1st of April, 2020 officials had raided Karachi University after recovering statements from agents of Indian agency RAW, and recovered a machine gun as well as two pistols and bullets from the office. Moreover, they were able to recover laptops and computers as well as anti-state literature material against Pakistan. The office was reportedly built on the instructions of the ASI, Shahzad Pervez.
Following the revelations by JIT, the FIA investigated the alleged IP address of the accused who had been receiving instructions from India to sabotage. In addition to this, the houses of witnesses Adil Ansari and Majid were also raised during investigation. During the raids, maps and checkboxes of important installations of the country were found.
According to reports, the SIU police and FIA have sped up operations and the scope of the investigation has been expanded.
