Kargil War Hero Sher Khan remembers on 23rd martyrdom anniversary

The 23rd martyrdom anniversary of Kargil War Hero, Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed Nishan-e-Haider was observed on Tuesday.

Sher was born in district Swabi of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in 1970.

During the Kargil conflict on the Line of Control in 1999, he emerged as the symbol of courage and inflicted heavy losses on the Indian forces, while defending the five strategic posts at the height of 17,000 feet in Gultra.

He was martyred on this day in 1999 gallantly defending the motherland and was decorated with country`s highest gallantry award, Nishan-e-Haider.

23rd  Martyrdom anniversary of Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider was observed today at his native town Swabi (KP).

Major General Adil Yamin Inspector General Frontier Constabulary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa laid floral wreath at Captain Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed’s mausoleum.

A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented guard of honour.

Various people from different walks of life, civil and military officials and relatives of shaheed attended the wreath laying ceremony.
