August 5, marks the two-year anniversary of the Indian lockdown in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan tries to expose the oppression of the Kashmiri people to the world, not just on specific days but throughout the years.

On the one hand, COVID-19 and Lockdown destroyed economies around the world and wiped out people’s businesses. On the other hand in Kashmir, where Lockdown and forced siege have been already underway, the situation was exacerbated by the epidemically infectious disease. Despite the pandemic, India has not stopped targeting unarmed civilians, not only in occupied Kashmir but also illegally occupied forces continued to commit gross human rights violations.

Today, on August 5, the entire Pakistani nation speaks with one voice against this exploitation of Kashmiris and this voice will be heard all over the world as the heart of the Kashmiri and Pakistani people beats together. Whenever India tried to stage a new story of oppression in Kashmir, there was intense outrage from the Pakistani people.

Despite this, Pakistan is thinking ahead and wants a peaceful solution to the Kashmir issue. Pakistan also knows how to protect regional security. While the whole world is aware of the extremist Hindutva thinking of the RSS and Indian Prime Minister Modi.

International bodies must note that to counter this thinking, it has become even more important today to expose India because this thinking has become a threat not only to Indian or Kashmiri Muslims but also to the peace and security of the entire region.

The genocide of unarmed Kashmiris by Indian illegally occupied forces continues on a daily basis. Young people are its main target and they are subjected to inhumane torture in India’s secret torture cells. We indebted those fearless young people who give their lives but are not ready to bow before the Indian-occupied forces to defend their soil.

On August 5, 2019, there was a conspiracy by India to divide Jammu and Kashmir into three parts. Indian government attempted to erase the identity of Kashmiris but failed miserably. India thought that by doing so, it would subjugate the Kashmiris psychologically and legally, but no Muslim in the valley accepted this division.

India, the enemy of Muslims, has not only been inhumanely treating the Muslim men, women, and children of Occupied Kashmir since 1947, but it has also not missed any opportunity of aggression on the line of control. The world community needs to understand that, “Kashmir Dispute” is a central point of eternal enmity between India and Pakistan.

Article one of the UN Charter states the purpose of its formation. “To maintain international peace and security, and to that end: to take effective collective measures for the prevention and removal of threats to the peace by peaceful means”, according to the true spirit of the UN charter.

Contrary to that, the Kashmir issue is the oldest case on the table of the UN that awaits final resolution. The Security Council should bound the Indian government to end the atrocities and ask to lift the military siege, communications, and restrictions in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The United Nations should repeal the Indian act of new domicile rules introduced with the intention of changing the demographic structure of Kashmir. The United Nations should void the Indian unilateral and illegal move of August 5, 2019. A Commission of Inquiry should be set up to investigate human rights violations by the Indian Occupied forces in IIOJK. Because the peaceful resolution of conflicts and the protection of human rights and dignity is the primary responsibility of the United Nations.
