Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and across the world are observing Kashmir Black Day today to convey to the world that India had occupied their motherland illegally on October 27, 1947.
It was on October 27, 1947, when Indian troops in total violation of the spirit of the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent had militarily invaded Jammu and Kashmir and illegally occupied it against the will of the Kashmiri people.
The day will be marked by a complete shutdown in Indian’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Protest marches, rallies, and seminars will be held across the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and all over the world to condemn the invasion of the Indian Army on October 27, 1947, as well as the revocation of the special status of occupied Kashmir by the Modi-led fascist government on August 5, 2019.
President Dr. Arif Alvi has urged the international community to hold India accountable for its atrocities and human rights violations in illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
In his message on the occasion of Kashmir Black Day, he said the world community and the media should highlight the plight of the Kashmiri people.
The President said peace and stability in South Asia depend on the peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute according to the relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmiris.
He said India should understand that it cannot suppress the freedom struggle of Kashmiris through force.
The President said Pakistan will continue to support Kashmiri brothers and sisters until the final resolution of the dispute by the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has urged the international community to take practical steps to hold India accountable for its excesses in the occupied Kashmir.
In his message on day, he said an intensified campaign to ‘Indianize’ Kashmir and transform Kashmiris into a disempowered community in their own land has been in full swing since 5 August 2019.
He Indian Occupation has taken several steps to realize these nefarious designs, including gerrymandering of the electoral constituencies, addition of non-Kashmiris to voter rolls, issuance of domicile certificates to outsiders, and introduction of new laws on ownership of land and property.
Senate passes resolution
The Senate today unanimously passed a resolution strongly reaffirming Pakistan’s solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for right to self-determination.
The resolution moved by Senator Kamil Ali Agha, reiterated Pakistan’s moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiri people.
The resolution strongly condemned the Indian brutalities and the killing of thousands of innocent Kashmiris in the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. It urged the International community for the expeditious formation of a Commission of Inquiry to investigate the gross human rights violation in IIOJK.
The House also rejected the conduct of fake elections in IIOJK, saying this violates the UNSC resolutions which stipulates that the final disposition of the disputed territory will be made in accordance with the aspiration of Kashmiri people through the conduct of a free and impartial plebiscite under the UN.
The Senate today passed two more resolutions expressing profound grief and sorrow over the deaths of sitting Senator Rana Maqbool and former Senator S. M.Zafar.
The resolutions moved by Leader of House Ishaq Dar and Kamil Ali Agha paid glowing tributes to the services and contributions of Rana Maqbool and S.M. Zafar saying that these will be remembered for a long time.
The house through its resolutions extended condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls.
In his remarks on the occasion, the Leader of House said that Rana Maqbool was a principled, cooperative and capable person.
Ishaq Dar said S.M. Zafar was recognized as the top lawyer and a great politician.
Earlier, Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti paid tributes to the services of late Senator Rana Maqbool and senior politician late S. M. Zafar. He said Rana Maqbool was one of the finest and seasoned lawmakers.
Speaking in Senate, the Interior Minister also recognized the sacrifices being rendered by security personnel in the fight against terrorism. He said the security personnel are sacrificing their today for a better future of Pakistan.
Sarfraz Bugti strongly condemned the Israeli atrocities in Gaza.
Other Senators also paid tributes to the services and contributions of Rana Maqbool and S.M. Zafar and extended condolences to the bereaved families.
At the outset, the House offered fateha for the departed souls of Senator Rana Maqbool, renowned jurist S. M. Zafar as well as the Palestinians, martyred in Israeli airstrikes.
The House has now been adjourned to meet on Monday at 2:30 p.m.
In connection with Black Day being observed on Friday, a rally was held in the federal capital to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The rally started at the foreign office and culminated at D-Chowk.
Addressing the rally, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi said India has been breaching the UN Security Council resolutions which recognize the right of self-determination of Kashmiri people. He lamented the fact that the champions of human rights turn a blind eye to the atrocities occurring in India’s illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
The Information Minister said no power or weapon can suppress the freedom movement. He said the blood rendered by the Kashmiri people has further intensified the freedom movement in the occupied valley. He said without justice, peace cannot be established in the world.
Senior Kashmiri leader Ghulam Muhammad Safi in his remarks said Pakistan has always raised the Kashmir dispute at international forums. He said India is using Israel like tactics to change the demographic structure of IIOJK.
People belonging to different walks of life including Kashmiri leaders attended the rally.
The participants raised full-throated slogans in support of Kashmiri people. They were also carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans in support of the Kashmiri people.
