“On the morning of July 12, 2020, Kelly Preston, adored wife, and mother, passed away following a two-year battle with breast cancer,” a family representative told PEOPLE.
She appeared in more than sixty television and film productions, including Mischief (1985), Twins (1988), and Jerry Maguire (1996). Kelly was a classy actor who graduated from teen-movie roles to darker and funnier parts.

She collaborated with her husband John Travolta on the science fiction film Battlefield Earth (2000) and the biographical film Gotti (2018). She also starred in the films The Cat in the Hat (2003), What a Girl Wants (2003), Broken Bridges (2006), and Old Dogs (2009).
As reported in The Guardian, after starting out with romantic-interest characters, Preston evolved into a smart, subversive performer, most notably in the hit rom-com ‘Jerry Maguire’.
Here is a list of some of her notable Hollywood movies:
Mischief (1985)
Kelly Preston first appeared in the movie ‘Mischief’ along with the actors Doug McKeon, and Catherine Mary Stewart. The movie was about a boy who was obsessed with the hottest girl in class. Kelly played the hot blonde in the movie.

Twins (1988)
In her 20s, Preston got sexy supporting-cast Hollywood roles in movies such as the 1988 box-office smash ‘Twins’, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito as the bizarrely un-similar titular siblings. Preston played Marnie, the woman who marries Schwarzenegger’s gentle giant while Chloe Webb played her twin sister Linda, who is paired off with wisecracking DeVito.
Jerry Maguire (1996)
Kelly had the best role of her career in ‘Jerry Maguire’ in which she could go toe-to-toe with Tom Cruise in big dialogue scenes and actually dominate the screen. It was ultimately Preston’s destiny to be upstaged by the more sympathetic and relatable love-interest Renée Zellweger in that film, but she was a fierce and powerful figure as his cynical and fanatically careerist fiancee, Avery.
