KP to release Rs900m for infrastructure uplift in the Hangu, Kohat and Karak Region

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Wednesday released Rs900 million for improving gas infrastructure in the southern districts of Kohat, Karak and Hangu. KP Minister for Finance Taimur Saleem Khan Jhagra said that the provincial government was taking measures for the sustainable development of the southern districts to bring them at par with the other developed districts of the province, following the party’s manifesto.
He said the provincial government has released Rs900 million to the oil and gas producing districts of Kohat,Karak and Hangu for improving gas infrastructure and supply of gas to hundreds and households, as these districts are contributing to boost the provincial economy at large.
He further said that under the scheme more than 70,000 households of the three districts would be provided with the gas facility and the existing infrastructure would also be improved.
Jhagra said besides the provision of gas facility, the government would fulfill all its promises to improve the life standard of the people and will take measures for lasting development of the oil and gas producing southern districts, he concluded.
It is worth mentioning here that the Finance Department has released the fund of Rs900 million to SNGPL for timely provision of gas supply.
