Islamabad (11 Feb 2022): President Kashmir Youth Alliance (KYA) Dr Syed Mujahid Gilani has paid rich tribute to Kashmiri leader Maqbool Butt on the 38th anniversary of his martyrdom, saying he is an Iconic Leader of Kashmir freedom movement and sacrifice of his life will ultimately bear fruit in the shape of liberation of Occupied Kashmir from the clutches of Indian forces.
“The Government of India could jail Shaheed Maqbool Bhat and silence him by execution, but they could not silence his ultimate desire, the struggle for the people of Kashmir for self-determination,” He added.
Secretary General KYA Razi Tahir said Maqbool Bhat was an ideologue, a warrior, a leader and an intellectual who led Kashmiris on all fronts, be it diplomatic front, armed front, political front or intellectual front. He strived hard for the freedom of Kashmir from Indian occupation.”
Senior Vice President KYA Taha Muneeb said Maqbool Butt is an inspiration to millions of Kashmiris and those striving for human rights and human dignity. Since his execution, February 11 has been observed by all Kashmiris as a black day of mourning for the martyr of a brave Kashmiri leader.
President KYA State of Azad Jammu Kashmir Chapter Usman Subhani Adv said Maqbool Butt Shaheed was a great freedom fighter. Only the path of late Syed Ali Gilani, Dr. Qasim Fakto, Ms. Asiya Andarabi, late Ashraf Sahrai, Maqbool Butt Shaheed, Afzal Guru Shaheed and Musarat Alam Butt can lead us to our destination.
“All Kashmiris need a great struggle for Kashmir against Indian barbarism by forgetting personal differences. The goal of independence is near but for that it is necessary that we, as one body and one soul, have to fight resolutely against the ongoing Indian oppression in Kashmir.” he added.
