A special Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight, carrying 249 Pakistanis from Khartoum Sudan reached Peshawar on May 16.
As per details, the PIA flight carrying 249 passengers of Tableeghi Jamaat landed in Peshawar at 1900 hrs (PST) on May 16.
According to Baaghi TV sources, a total of 20 PIA employees, including four cockpit crew and two ground engineers, were tested at 2300 hrs (same day) for coronavirus.
The samples were collected by the District Health Officer (DHO) and were sent to Public Health Reference Lab, Khyber Medical University, Peshawar. As per information received, the doctors and the paramedic staff were highly incompetent and unprofessional.
While talking to Baaghi TV, it was mentioned that the way tests were conducted was so painful and inhumane. It is pertinent to mention here that it is not a doctor’s job to conduct tests specially for COVID-19, however technicians are given special training sessions for that. Unfortunately, there was no technician available while collecting test samples.
Usually a well equipped lab is able to determine if you’ve acquired the coronavirus within hours but the test reports of PIA staff takes ages. In addition to above out of 18 crew members only two were given reports yesterday evening through their Individual ID and Password of the lab here in Peshawar, while the rest are still waiting for results. However, if given to same private or government laboratory on cash payment, they produce the result within 8 to 10 hours.
PIA in misery as NIH, Marriot make money with both hands
Furthermore, the PIA staff are not able to contact the laboratory or the doctors during quarantine. They don’t have their contact numbers, however, the only landline number mentioned on the report is nonoperational. Whereas, on the other hand, doctors/quarantine in-charge have taken all the details (including CNIC, mobile number, landline number, home address) from the PIA staff.
How can you expect a pilot to be normal and safe when you under huge amount of tension and pressure?
It is very disappointing to see that those people who are pushing their lives in danger just to fulfill their duties and facilitate the Pakistanis are being mistreated and trampled. Coronavirus has terrified the entire world, yet PIA pilots are putting their lives at risk and flying to bring back the stranded Pakistanis.
Earlier, Baaghi TV exposed the Marriot Hotel and National Institutes of Health (NIH) mafia in Islamabad who were maltreating the PIA employees. Government of Pakistan must take strict action, not only against their management but also against Public Health Reference Lab officials for not ensuring full implementation of the SOP.
PIA and its staff members are struggling really hard to bring back home people stuck in different parts of the world due to COVID-19 induced global lockdown.
